The Department of Physical Education and Sport Science was founded in 1982. Since then

it has participated in many research projects funded by national and international institutions (Ministries, NSRF, Erasmus, Interreg etc.).

It offers undergraduate education programs, postgraduate

and doctoral level, in subjects related to sports science, exercise, sports tourism and sport sport tourism and sport administration. In the last evaluation it was included in the 100

best departments worldwide for its research work, based on Shanghai list.Laboratory of Management of Sports Recreation and Tourism was established in 2016 with the aim of producing high quality.

The project is aimed at producing high quality research work, participation in research projects and the development of research projects. and providing consulting services in the field of tourism and sport. Sports Tourism, and Sports Marketing and Services Leisure Services.

In these years she coordinates 2 Erasmus+

projects and participates as a partner in 4 others. His research activity is reflected in more than 15.000 international references in published work of its members. It is the only laboratory in Greece that has specialized

in Sports Tourism Management, with activities both in the field

of consulting and

educational activities.
